Dear Parents,
A warm welcome to the MAHARANA PRATAP PUBLIC SCHOOL,
1. Greetings and warm welcome.I feel immensely privileged on being associated with an effort to nurture a budding temple of learning. This school, starting from scratch took tiny steps forward during the current academic year i.e 2016-2017. It was our deliberate decision that in the first year, we limit our-self to run classes from nursery to fifth standard on and thereafter keep adding one class every year.
2. While deciding our aim and objectives, we felt it obligating to analyse the 'ground situation' prevailing in the area around the school. In this rural belt of Himachal Pradesh, majority of the population is from lower middle class. On the literacy graph, our state is doing exceptionally well. So is the case in our area. However, all the elements of quality education are very rare if not altogether absent in the system. Our children have abundance of potential and the system has ignored the need to develop it. Another important aspect that engaged our attention is that the family values, the social values and the national values have almost ceased to occupy their due space in the society. On the other hand every parent expects that justifiably that after completing +2 education, their child should be able to join any professional course of his/her choice. Success rate on this score is too not at all encouraging.
3. Our aims and objectives, our mission were thus, formed on based on various factors such as mentioned above. We decided that our mission for the school be :-
Introduction of technology in teaching and learning process.
Ensure modernisation of infrastructure.
To take every possible step in pursuit of excellence.
To provide value based education.
Due importance to physical fitness, sports and yoga.
4. Education is the foundation of any civilisation and is the course of action by which an individual is encouraged and enabled to develop his/her potential equipping the individual with what is necessary to be a prolific affiliate of society. We asked ourselves a question - “What makes a good school?” “Is it the teachers, the students, the facilities, the curriculum or the parents?” the obvious answer is that it is the combination of all this and much more.
5. We shall never loose sight of our “On the ground” situation. All our efforts will mesh with it and we will strive hard day in and day out to achieve our mission. Surely, we will face obstacles in our mission. We will do well to always bear in mind. There is an old saying ”When the going gets tough, The tough gets going”.
May God bless you all.
